Q; How is it that the blue warp lights in Engineering seem sometimes to be standing still?
A; We might assume that the doughnut lights, when they get up to a certain speed, start to strobe. Like wagon wheels, when they get to a certain velocity they seem to be standing still, or at best moving very slowly.
The personnel who staff the stations at the rear of the Bridge are seen to be seated during this episode. It means nothing now, but just wait till later on in the series. Maybe these guys did something wrong and Picard decided that they shouldn't sit any more.
Did anyone out there ever read Marvel's Dr Strange comic when Steve Ditko was illustrating it? That shot of Picard going through the turbolift door into open space : pure Ditko, wasn't it?

I couldn't help but wonder, when they were trying to get back, why Picard first ordered a reciprocal flight, and then a retroactive one. Where's the difference?
And just why was one of the crewman wearing a dress?
