A; We might assume that she was considered irrevocably deceased. I seem to recall that the definition of death has gained some flexibility over the years, as advances in medicine have facilitated resuscitation in folks who in earlier times would have been declared, with perfect accuracy, as dead and gone. It could arguably be that, by this particular stardate, being pronounced dead does not necessarily have the finality that it does currently.
