A; Um. I can only assume that, when the guy who Picard sedated said that the two field diverters had to be aligned, just maybe he was telling the truth and that once one of them was nixed it did for the other one too.
Brent Spiner is just so very very good as a comic actor. He is genuinely a pleasure to watch, and never more so than in this episode.
I see that Picard hasn't forgotten how to do the Vulcan nerve-pinch. Curious, though, that the chap he applies it to, when he comes round, rubs the other side of his neck, not the side that Picard applied it to. Further, some might see irony in that the chappie in question is one Tim Russ, who himself goes on to play a Vulcan in Voyager and according to various Nitpickers (I've not seen this for myself) a Klingon in DS9. He's in "Generations", too, which means he's had four separate roles in Star Trek thus topping Diana Muldaur who, so far as I'm aware, only had three roles in the various series.
Where, one might enquire, were Troi's famous empathic abilities when she was casually having drinkie-poos with a couple of murderous terrorists? Why couldn't she sense any deception?
When the thieves' ship blows up, the explosion rocks the Enterprise. In space? Wouldn't there need to be air to carry a shock-wave?
Interesting that, in "Generations", the Enterprise crew were all amazed at the new creation known as Trilithium. Obviously they'd all forgotten about this episode, which is, I believe, where we first hear of the substance.
